Somatoemotional Release

SomatoEmotional Release

Most therapies treat either the body or the mind – you have either physical therapy or psychotherapy. But often a physical problem has an emotional component and vice versa. That means that you cannot heal completely unless both parts are cared for. Dr Upledger named the process of finding and releasing these related emotions SomatoEmotional Release (SER).

SER can help with depression, anxiety, poor immune response, lack of confidence and low energy. It can be a tremendous help for people to deal with a traumatic event in their life. Victims of abuse and rape, soldiers returning from war, sudden loss of a loved one or being caught up in an accident or a major catastrophe such as a tsunami or an earthquake.
SomatoEmotional Release® (SER®) and CranioSacral Therapy (CST) include all the different aspects of a person – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual – into the treatment. In that way it can help to achieve major changes and growth.
